Devil’s DVD Advocacy: Bad Teacher

My seventh grade math teacher, to whom I shall refer as “Miss K.” It’s not that Miss K was a bad teacher, she just wasn’t very good at her job. She was a neat-freak to the point of psychosis, her particular pet peeve those little paper chads that fell to the floor whenever you ripped a page out of a spiral notebook. She HATED those things, to the point where spiral notebooks were banned from her classroom. Period. She didn’t ban ripping pages out of one, she didn’t ban using them, SHE BANNED THE NOTEBOOKS THEMSELVES – we weren’t even allowed to have one in our backpack in her classroom.

Devil’s DVD Advocacy: Knight and Day

Knight and Day is the latest from the Snark Master Supreme, Tom Cruise (who happens to be turning 48 today; happy birthday Tommy Boy).  Along with co-star Cameron Diaz, Cruise is back and in top form, being “that guy”.  And when he is “that guy” you can expect a “Tom Cruise in his prime” performance. Shrek Forever After (Devil’s Advocate Review)

Shrek Forever After The Final Chapter 4 (how many names has it gone by now) is typical, summer family entertainment.  Talking animals, enchanted creatures, and the newest staple in animated films, three dimensions worth of action.  All of these elements coalesce into a film that offers fun for kids and adults alike. Shrek Forever After

They say within every adult there is a kid at heart.  That is definitely true.  When I found out that a new Shrek movie was coming out, there was no question in my mind that I was or wasn’t going to see it.  I admit that I caught onto the ogre bandwagon late.  I ended up seeing the first one as the second one was coming out.  With all the hype going around, I saw the original and then saw the second.  I loved the films and all the characters in them.  I was excited to see the characters I’ve grown to love in another go-around in the fourth theater installment in the series.  I’m still curious about the title change from Shrek Forever After to Shrek The Final Chapter, nonetheless an opening weekend viewing was in order and my thoughts being shared to all of you as well. Shrek Forever After Will Premiere At Tribeca

The latest installment of Shrek will be coming to the big screen on April 21, a month before it’s wide release, at the Tribeca Film Festival.  The choice has been lauded as both innovative and odd, but is believed to attract the much needed attention that the film festival needs.

The movie will run April 21 through to May 2 at Tribeca, and opens in theaters all over on May 21.

Devil’s DVD Disappointment: The Box

Rattling through my head is William Shatner’s voice saying “What’s in the box?! Come on! What’s in the box?!”  Well, I’ll tell you what’s in store for you if you go see The Box….. bad acting and terrible execution of a storyline that showed tiny flares of life (mainly at the end) but overall fizzles.
