Slammin’ Salmon (Lil Devil)
Slammin’ Salmon is the latest comedy by the Broken Lizard crew. They’re the guys behind Super Troopers and Beerfest. Not as raunchy or out there as their earlier movies, Salmon is still a fun movie.
Slammin’ Salmon is the name of a trendy Miami restaurant owned by an ex-heavyweight boxing champ, Cleon Salmon (Michael Clarke Duncan). He’s hilariously punchy and overbearing. It’s a nice role for Duncan. He has some of the best laughs in the movie.
The staff at the restaurant get into a contest to see who can make the most money in food sales and tips in one night. The winner gets $10,000. The loser gets a beating from Cleon. This leads to mayhem as the staff tries to out do each other and make the most money that night.
The movie is a slapstick comedy from beginning to end. That being said, it gets the job done. It made me laugh and I had fun watching the craziness on screen. The movie is in limited release and will probably be on DVD soon. Worth checking out.
